Thought on the general theme: Get real (yo)
So you wan to get real? “The world” would have us believe that reality is found in possessions, status, the tangible. In not holding back how you feel even when that means but letting others “have it” and being nasty to others because that is the “real you”. (In other words it’s being selfish and self centered.) The scriptures reveal to us that truth is discovered in our relationship with the one who created all that the world points to as “real”.
The world is close, but shortsighted.
You cannot separate reality from God. Scripture tells us that all things were made By Him and For him , and that all that is seen (aka all that is “real”) was made of things which are not visible. All things, both those visible and those not visible are made by and for Him. (Col 1:16ff, Heb 11:3ff) So if you want to “get real” you have to “get God”.
We’re talking about substance about what things really are, about truth. If everything, without exception, finds its purpose, its reality, its truth in Him, WE find our truth, our reality in Him as well. We must find reality in finding God. You cannot separate reality from God. To “get real” we have to “get God.”
